Tom Leisek

Classical guitarist Tom Leisek is a versatile performer whose career spans solo recitals, chamber music collaborations, and original composition. A graduate of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music with a Master of Music degree, he has studied with renowned performers worldwide and has performed in settings ranging from intimate spaces to grand concert halls.

Leisek has served on the faculties of Sonoma State University, Pacific Union College, and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. As Vice-President and Artistic Director of the San Francisco Classical Guitar Society, he has been a leading figure in the Bay Area guitar community and an advocate for creative exploration, drawing on composition to contribute meaningfully to the instrument's repertoire.

His recording L'Esprit du Baroque on VGo Recordings features his own transcriptions of 17th and 18th-century French and German Baroque lute repertoire, bringing the elegance and ornamentation of the lute tradition to the modern classical guitar.
