Jérôme Mouffe
Belgian virtuoso guitarist Jérôme Mouffe has performed as a soloist and chamber musician across North America and Europe, appearing at the International Brussels Guitar Festival, Austin Classical Guitar, La Guitarra California Festival, Boston GuitarFest, and the Agustín Barrios Mangoré Festival in Brussels alongside his mentor Eliot Fisk. He frequently collaborates with guitarist Grisha Goryachev and flautist Ben Smolen, and has appeared as concerto soloist with the Orquesta Filarmónica de Sonora and Symphony by the Sea.
Mouffe was the first guitarist to earn a Doctor of Musical Arts from the New England Conservatory. He previously received his Master of Music magna cum laude from the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles at the age of 20, followed by a Postgraduate Diploma from the Universität Mozarteum in Salzburg, studying under Eliot Fisk, Ricardo Gallén, and flamenco guitarist Antonio Segura. He currently serves on the faculty at both the New England Conservatory and Bridgewater State University.
His debut album Capriccio on VGo Recordings features early 19th-century Italian virtuoso music — works by Regondi, Legnani, and Castelnuovo-Tedesco alongside Paganini transcriptions — showcasing the technical command and musical depth that have made him one of the most compelling guitarists of his generation.
