A prizewinner in twelve international guitar competitions and a founding member of the Texas Guitar Quartet, he has performed nationally and internationally as both a soloist and chamber musician. He and pianist Steven Lin were co-winners of the 2006 Boston GuitarFest Competition.

Williams holds a Doctor of Musical Arts from The University of Texas at Austin, a Master of Music from the University of Arizona, and a Bachelor of Music from the University of New Mexico.
