Boris Gaquere, a renowned classical guitarist and composer, has studied with Sérgio and Odair Assad and participated in masterclasses with legends like Leo Brouwer, Roland Dyens, and David Russell. His compositions are published internationally by Les Productions d'Oz, GSP, and Editions Lemoine, and his works have been recorded by esteemed guitarists such as Shin-Ichi Fukuda and Yasuji Ohagi. Boris has performed extensively across Europe, North and South America, Taiwan, and Japan, and regularly appears on radio and television. His solo albums for VGo Recordings include *Xeque-Mate* (2003), featuring a duet with Odair Assad, and *Carpe Diem* (2005), which focuses on Baroque music.
In addition to his solo work, Boris has collaborated on several innovative projects. His album *Tempo Feliz* (2006) with Brazilian percussionist Renato Martins explores Brazilian rhythms, while his quartet projects *Caçamba* (2011) and *Comboio* (2013) blend elements of jazz and world music. For the 20th anniversary of the Sedan Guitar Festival in 2013, Boris was commissioned to compose a double concerto for accordion, guitar, and string orchestra. Through his performances and compositions, Boris continues to push the boundaries of classical and contemporary guitar music.
